Who we are

NEBATA is the North of England Bone Marrow And Thalassaemia Association. We are an organisation that is run by volunteers and funded only by donations.

NEBATA provides support and information to people affected by the genetic blood disorder thalassaemia through a network of medical experts, families affected by thalassaemia and thalassaemia sufferers.

Operating from Manchester, NEBATA provides support to families across England and Scotland, reaching as far as Bristol, Glasgow and Leeds.

What we do

We offer friendly advice from other patients and parents with experience of the disorder.

Community based support, meetings, coffee morning and conferences.
Provides written information, through leaflets in several languages and open days.
Awareness events to educate the general public, patients and their families.
Moral support for the family of newly diagnosed babies.
Financial aid for attendance at national and international conferences and workshops.
Respite breaks - residential and day trips for patients and families.

Volunteer with us!

If you would like to volunteer with us, your help would be greatly appreciated. Without the help of volunteers, we would not be able to carry out any of our work.

NEBATA is always looking for reliable and helpful volunteers. We often need help with stalls, which we set up at a variety of events, and organising fundraising events.
